Cala Martina
Distance: 24 minutes
Cala Martina, known as the “little sister” of Cala Violina (they are about 2 km apart), is a beautiful beach located north of the Castiglione della Pescaia coastline, between Follonica and Punta Ala, inside the Bandite of Scarlino Nature Reserve.
Cala Martina, set in a splendid landscape characterised by beautiful Mediterranean scrubland that opens out onto the sea to offer breathtaking views, is a small beach with an intimate and evocative atmosphere, covered in gravel and bathed by wonderfully coloured transparent waters.
Its mainly stony seabed is ideal for snorkelling and numerous dives.
How to get to Cala Martina?
Following the provincial road SP 158 delle Collacchie, which connects Castiglione della Pescaia to Follonica, at Puntone go towards the tourist port where you will find the nearest car park, in Via Lungomare Garibaldi.
The beach can only be reached on foot or by bicycle along Via delle Costiere, a walk of about 45 minutes along a characteristic panoramic path through the Mediterranean maquis. Along the path leading to the beach, you will find a monument in honour of Garibaldi, who stopped here to stock up on ammunition before landing in Sicily.
