Punta Ala

Distance: 20 minutes

Located at the northern end of the Gulf of Follonica, Punta Ala offers several alternatives in terms of beaches, which have been awarded the 5 sails of the Legambiente Blue Guide.

The beach near the port is not very wide, but it is characteristic for its wild and charming atmosphere, from which it is possible to reach some rocks, to access and enjoy small suggestive coves. Punta Ala also boasts a very long beach, which can be accessed through a vast and dense pine forest that runs along the beach, sometimes free, sometimes equipped with various bathing establishments.

Also not to be missed is the beautiful beach of Casetta Civinini, which can be admired along the main road.

Casetta Civinini

Near Cala Civette there is the beautiful beach of Casetta Civinini, very wide, spacious and 6 km long; most of the space is left to the free beach, but there are also some equipped bathing establishments. Surrounded by lush green vegetation typical of the Maremma Mediterranean maquis, Casetta Civinini is embellished by fine, soft, light-coloured sand and washed by crystal-clear waters.

How to get to Casetta Civinini?

To reach Casetta Civinini, turn left at the Puntone traffic lights in the direction of Castiglione della Pescaia. After a long straight stretch, turn right at the junction for Puntala and, after about 3 km, halfway along a wide bend on the left you will find the entrance to the Casetta Civinini pinewood.
